Senior Electrical Assembler Job

JOB SUMMARY

Applied Companies in Valencia, CA is seeking a Systems Analyst Engineer to perform design and conformance verifications principally for our environmental control (HVAC) products. Analyst will also support Applied Companies’ pressure vessels, chiller systems, and custom products.  In this position, you will be responsible for creating and conveying Applied Companies’ evidence of conformity to customers, end-users, and other stakeholders. Additional duties include involvement in design development and varied other engineering functions.

SPECIFIC JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Produce documentation verifying design conformance to customer requirements (CDRLs, SDRLs, etc.)
• Create and maintain compliance matrices in a DoD contracting environment.
• Create documentation supporting technical proposals, and proof-of-design analyses.
• Understand and interpret technical drawings, product models, controls, and operating modes of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Write technical analyses for, and oversee, MIL-STD product testing.
• Review customer-provided technical specifications and other relevant data for design inclusion.
• Manage multiple concurrent developmental efforts.
• Create product technical (operation and maintenance) manuals, and test procedures.
• Recommend alternate design approaches that maintain conformance and function at lower cost and/or complexity.
• Develop templates for reports and procedures, and other documentation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS·

• BS or MS in Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or similar.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation to achieve customer approval of design/product.
• Excellent presentation and technical writing skills
• 5+ years of directly related work experience.

DESIRABLE

• Product data management knowledge
• Familiarity with MIL-STD 810, 1472 and other applicable military design standards.
• Experience with military-grade air conditioners, and/or refrigeration equipment.
• Create SolidWorks models and drawings.
• Experience with structural FEA (finite element analysis).
• Contribute to other engineering design and sustaining efforts (ECNs, bills-of-material, etc.)
• Diesel generator design and operation knowledge.
• Product reliability calculations (MTBF, etc.) and analysis.
• Experience in a small but fast-growing company.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

The Design Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager. Also maintains close communication and coordination with other members of the Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Contracts, and Purchasing departments. 

TRAVEL

Some travel may be required.
