Applied Companies has produced thousands of custom designed, military mobile ruggedized COTS and MIL-STD ECU for shelter and other rapid mobility battlefield electronic enclosure applications.
We have provided ECUs to virtually all of the major Defense Primes and a variety of Government buying commands involved in the deployment of mobile electronics Command, Control, Communications, and Computer (C4) equipment for the US Armed Forces.
Our years of experience gives our customers the advantage. We employ lessons learned from prior programs and reuse successful design concepts with constant eye to integration of new HVAC technologies. Our seasoned experience minimizes development program timeframes, engineering design risk and ultimately produces robustly designed ECUs with harsh environmental and combat proven reliability.
Virtually all of our post-9/11 new-ECU designs have been for units deployed to CENTCOM AOR supporting OIF and OEF. We are quite aware of the design requirements for ECUs destined for rigorous Middle-East military service with operational temperature extremes of the desert and service at altitude in rugged mountainous terrain as in Afghanistan. Our typical experience for ECUs in this service has shown Mean Time Between Critical Failures (MTBCF) in the 19,000 – 21,000 service hour range.
